Richard Sowden

Richard originally worked as a teacher before studying for an MA in Management. He then worked for 16 years in Local Authorities, initially in service departments, moving to a central / policy role and finishing as manager of economic development partnership schemes. He became a self-employed (PRINCE 2) project manager in 2005, specialising in digital inclusion projects for public sector clients including Digital Birmingham, Connecting Bristol, the DC10 Network and the South West Grid for Learning. Since 2008 he has worked with CLG’s Digital Inclusion Team developing and implementing a number of the tools now included in esd-toolkit – including Business Case Tool, Digital Inclusion Checklist & Innovation Toolkit.
