Ian has over 25 years experience in the public sector. He now works as a consultant advising local authorities and local strategic partnerships on the use of digital technologies to support achievement of local regeneration and service transformation agendas. This encompasses: access to external grant funding, improving delivery of local services, tackling issues of social and digital inclusion, next generation broadband strategies, skills development and progression, worklessness, business enterprise and economic growth.
Ian has also worked as a Digital Inclusion Advisor delivering a range of Assignments to local authority and government clients including Birmingham, Malvern, North Lincs, Stoke and CLG. He has contributed to the development of a number of ESD tools including Community Maps, Business Case Tool, & Digital Inclusion Beacon Checklist and can offer expertise, advice and training support tailored to local needs.
Ian also works with the University of Salford Thinklab as a Senior Research Fellow researching and promoting the use of emerging visualisation and mapping technologies as a joint insight tool to support urban planning and regeneration and service redesign.
